After performing my one-woman show, CHANGING SHOES, in Atlanta, I received a great email from a woman, who came with a group of friends. They really loved the show and so they came up with a great idea – to throw a shoe party! Everyone who came was to bring a shoe that held great meaning for them, a shoe that told a story – e.g.”I wore this espadrille when I fell out of a boat in Sicily”; “I was wearing this pair of stilettos when I made the phone call that changed my life”; “I got married in this pair of cream satin pumps”. Sooo, I would really love it if you would share with me a shoe that meant something fun, or outrageous, or even sad to you. You can e-mail me your shoe story at tina@changingshoes.com (if you use an e-mail program like Outlook, or Apple Mail, click here). Be sure to let me know if I can post it on my website to let others read it. Looking forward to hearing about your favorite shoe story. Love, tina

On April Fools Day, CBS cancelled Guiding Light – the show which has been an emotional history of our country since 1937. Guiding Light, the longest running serial in television history, is an open time capsule of the American scene. The show reveals for future generations what America loved and feared from the years of the Great Depression to the present. From its inception, Guiding Light has been watched by multi-generations sitting side-by-side to learn from the sins and joys and foibles of every era – the Korean War, the revolution of the 60’s, Silicon Valley, the tragedy of September 11th.

Future generations will be able to study the emotional journey of our country by viewing episode 28 or 452 or 10,001 or 15,688. Though Guiding Light chronicles the American scene, Love is our viewer’s favorite topic and the one, we as actors, enjoy playing the most.

The capsule is closing and the Light will leave CBS on September 18th after more than 15,700 episodes. But the Light could stay on as we could be picked up by cable tv morphing from radio to tv to cable just as our country morphs and grows. We truly show how our country changes and grows as we grow with it and change with it.

—Keep the Light
